Self-evaluation model (BE-FL)

Domain:
Monitoring and evaluating innovation
Brief overview:
Tool that enables project promotors and partners to assess the quality of their project

This self-evaluation model helps project promotors and partners to assess quality of project management and project execution. It consists of a blanks tool in Excel, completed with a manual in pdf. The result is a chart containing scores on several management aspects, a graphical presentation of the results as well as an action plan featuring actions, responsabilities and timing. It is no extra control system imposed from outside or a labelling system for organisations, but a free and useful tool for project management evaluation and improvement. It allows promotors and partners to check the projects state of completion.

The model is based on the EFQM or CAF quality model, but in a 'light' version, user-friendly and adapted to the needs of project promotors. It is not meant to submit the entire organisation to an EFQM-test.

Main advantages:

- The tool raises awareness for further professionalisation, dealing with major issues such as vision, strategy, objectives, means and results.

- It supports the partnership process.

- The tool may be an excellent aid for the start-up of a development project, since it is a checklist for 'readiness'.

- Project promotors can benchmark with each others or different evaluation results.
